GLENEAGLES - AN ELEGANT SCOTTISH RETREAT
In my most recent YouTube video I traveled to Gleneagles, a Scottish hotel and golf resort in Perthshire that was established in 1924. Just over an hour away from Edinburgh, this is one of my favourite places to come when I want to escape the city and enjoy the luxury of peace and scenic beauty.
As I was only visiting Gleneagles for the day, I didn't get to showcase the rooms and suites at the hotel, so I thought that I would share more here.
Entering the gates at Gleneagles, there is a real feeling of peace, like behind these walls time stops and the worries of the world cease to exist. This is perhaps why so many have been enamoured with the hotel.
Staying at Gleneagles is like being invited to a country weekend with an old friend - the rooms and suites are decorated in the most comfortable style with an abundance of lamps, soft furnishings, and decorative objects - all of which add to the overall ambience of quiet elegance.
The Royal Lochnagar Suite at Gleneagles is the most luxurious and beautiful suite in the hotel, with uninterrupted views across the beautiful Glendevon and Ochil Hills.
The suite has a marble entrance hall, as well as a private sitting and dining room, powder room, and dressing room. The en-suite bathroom has under-floor heating and a roll-top bath - definitely a place to unwind and let any troubles fade away.
The sitting room is decorated for sumptuous comfort with squashy seating, lamps, layers of textiles, and plenty of books.
The dining room has an elegant table for eight - perfect for a dinner with the whole family, or perhaps a group of friends.
The bathroom is the perfect place to unwind after a long day of walking or playing golf.
The Estate Suite is a slightly smaller room, but still abundant with elegance. It is also perhaps a little more contemporary than the Locnagar Suite. It has a sitting and dining room, as well as en-suite bathroom.
The bedroom is cool and contemporary with the four-poster-bed and clean lines.
I love the twin sinks - no fighting over who is going to brush their teeth first!
As well as luxury suites, Gleneagles also has some beautiful bedrooms - perfect for an overnight stay, or if you want to treat yourself but can't afford to splash out on a suite. You will still get to enjoy the elegance and charm, but on a slightly smaller scale.
